This picture, taken of Mercy girls gossiping, was taken as a candid portrait. We were given an assignment to go out into the hallways and take a picture of something we thought would be interesting. Going with traditional stereotypes, I looked for girls gossiping.

Scanner Art

In an effort to take pictures without the use of a camera, our class created Scanner Art, making pictures by using a scanner and Photoshop to create abstract art.
This picture focuses mostly on the subliminal, making the texture a vital element. By combining this with emphasis, I created an inquiring mood.

Ansel Adams

Taken on the Mercy campus, this picture was created in an attempt to mirror the techniques utilized by Ansel Adams.
I focused on the main principle of bright whites and dark blacks. Also, the lines created by the trees bring attention to the top of the photo, where the brightest white are. Also, the trees create somewhat of a symmetry.

Sunprint

This picture, a sun print, was our first project as a class. Taking oddly shaped items from our houses, we created shadows on a piece of paper and exposed it to sunlight.
I focused on color and emphasis when editing this photo. I wanted to create a sense of hidden gem in daily life, highlighting that which is obviously and inherently good.
